As per TMZ, Kanye West has gone a step ahead in his new collaboration following the official registration and trademark acquisition of the Yeezy Gap logo. The logo uses the exact same insignia that Ye had shared out last year via twitter when announcing Yeezy’s 10-year partnership with Gap. The logo makes use of Gap’s signature blue square, with YZY written in the middle.
Kanye West filed for the rights for the new design on April 9. According to the trademark documents—highlighted by TMZ, also identified are the kinds of items that Kanye is expected to produce through Yeezy Gap,which include handbags, headwear, luggage, backpacks, footwear, jackets, umbrellas, and more. Kanye also retains the rights to use the logo for retail and online services. The collaboration is set to hit retail stores later this year.
Recent reports revealed that Yeezy’s deal with Gap is valued at up to $970 million. Granted, West’s business ventures have seen him become a billionaire, with a total estimated value of between $5.1 billion to $6.6 billion.
Kanye is reportedly said to be hard at work on the partnership. “I spoke to Yeezy last night and he’s very, very focused on this incredible opportunity,” said Gap’s chief executive officer Sonia Syngal earlier this month.
