Cardi B Takes Aim at BIA on New Track “Pretty & Petty”

Cardi B continues to assert her dominance in hip-hop with her new track “Pretty & Petty,” from her album Am I The Drama?. The song has sparked conversation on social media for its direct shots at Boston rapper BIA, showcasing some of Cardi’s sharpest lyrical barbs in years.

From the opening lines, Cardi challenges BIA’s credibility. She raps, “Name five BIA songs, gun pointed to your head / Bow, I’m dead,” mocking her rival’s catalog and labeling it “melatonin flow” for its supposed lack of energy. She also takes aim at Epic Records, claiming they are overspending on BIA while demanding her own compensation.

Cardi’s attack moves beyond career criticism to personal jabs. She targets BIA’s appearance with the line, “I’d rather die on the surgery table / ’Fore I gotta walk around here lookin’ like you,” and questions her industry recognition, asking, “Do she even got a BET award?” Cardi also asserts that promoters book BIA only when they “can’t afford Coi,” referencing Coi Leray’s rising profile.

The diss track includes wordplay on BIA’s background and allegations of dishonesty. Lines such as “You from Boston, let’s have a little tea party” and “Why you always at Diddy house? … Tell these folks what it’s really about” blend humor and provocation. Cardi also critiques perceived light-skinned privilege and closes with a Mean Girls reference, positioning BIA as “a Gretchen” to her own self-declared “icon” and “legend” status.

“Pretty & Petty” combines comedy, venom, and bravado, reasserting Cardi B’s position in hip-hop. The track challenges BIA’s place in the industry while reminding listeners of Cardi’s ability to dominate conversation with wit and ferocity.
