Young Thug Teases NBA YoungBoy Collab as ‘Uy Scuti’ Anticipation Builds

Young Thug has sent fans into a frenzy after hinting at a possible collaboration with NBA YoungBoy, just as the buzz around his long-awaited album Uy Scuti reaches a boiling point. The Atlanta rap icon recently took to social media with a direct message for the Baton Rouge star, saying: “YB, hit my phone, man. Aye, somebody tell Top to call me. I need to ask him something. Call my phone, Top.”

The message quickly ignited speculation that a track featuring both rappers could land on either artist’s upcoming album. With Young Thug’s Uy Scuti still unreleased despite earlier promises of a June drop, fans are hoping this potential collab could be the spark that marks its arrival.

Thugger recently premiered an unreleased track from Uy Scuti during his headline performance at Summer Smash in June, a major moment as it marked his first live show since being released from jail in 2023. He didn’t hold back, delivering crowd-favorite hits and pulling out star power with Travis Scott joining him on stage. The high-energy set solidified that Thug was back in full form.

Another standout moment from the performance came when Thug brought out rising star Ken Carson to debut what he called “new shit.” While the duo didn’t reveal a title, the catchy hook made an impression:
“My bitch, she bad / She stay stone cold / Where the diamonds at / She inside her nose.”

For many fans, this Summer Smash performance carried extra weight. Back in 2022, Thug and Gunna were slated to perform at the same festival before both were arrested on RICO charges. Now, after a year behind bars and an intense legal saga, Thug’s return to that same stage felt symbolic.

Elliot Montanez, director of operations for Lyrical Lemonade, reflected on the significance, saying: “In a weird way, all of that happened with Summer Smash being one of the shows he was about to do before he went away for a little bit, and now Summer Smash being the first show [he’s doing] fresh out, it is full circle. It’s a beautiful, full-circle moment.”

Outside of music, Thugger continues to surprise with his unpredictable moves. During a recent appearance on Adin Ross’ Kick livestream, Thug joked about quitting music altogether to become a full-time streamer. After learning about the millions Ross reportedly makes through streaming, Thug said: “I’ma stop doing music and start streaming. I think I’m gonna stop. I’m telling ya, I’m done rapping and gonna start streaming.”

He added playfully, “Y’all live a cool life. Y’all go everywhere everyday. Y’all got cats wondering around this bitch. Y’all got all types of crazy stuff.”

Whether he’s teasing new music, collaborating with rap’s biggest names, or joking about switching careers, Young Thug remains one of hip hop’s most dynamic and unpredictable figures. With Uy Scuti still looming and NBA YoungBoy potentially in the mix, fans are staying locked in for whatever comes next.
