Diddy Faces Over 60 Sexual Abuse Lawsuits Amid 50-Month Prison Sentence

Sean “Diddy” Combs has been sentenced to 50 months in federal prison after being found guilty of violating the Mann Act in July. Judge Arun Subramanian delivered the ruling last week, citing Diddy’s “immense resources, which enabled his crimes,” as a key factor in the sentencing. Alongside the prison term, the music mogul has been ordered to pay a $500,000 fine.

The Mann Act, originally enacted in 1910, criminalizes the transportation of individuals across state lines for illicit purposes. While the exact details of Diddy’s violation were not made public, the conviction adds to a growing list of legal troubles surrounding the Bad Boy Entertainment founder.

Diddy’s attorney, Marc Agnifilo, announced plans to appeal the sentence, calling it “unconstitutional.” Speaking to reporters after the hearing, Agnifilo said, “He used the word ‘coercion’ at least a dozen times today, but the jury found there was no coercion. We think that’s unconstitutional. We think a jury’s verdict should mean more.”

Attorney Alexandra Shapiro echoed this sentiment, saying the judge “acted as a 13th juror” and that “the sentence was driven by conduct the jury rejected.”

The 54-year-old entrepreneur and rapper, known for his decades-long influence in hip-hop and business, has faced a wave of other serious accusations. Since November 2023, over 60 civil sexual abuse lawsuits have been filed against him, according to USA Today. Many of the alleged victims are represented by Texas attorney Tony Buzbee, who has handled several high-profile cases nationwide.

Diddy has continued to deny all sexual assault and trafficking allegations. In a statement, his legal team said, “Mr. Combs and his legal team have full confidence in the facts and the integrity of the judicial process. In court, the truth will prevail: that Mr. Combs never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone—man or woman, adult or minor.”

The ongoing civil cases could pose a major financial and reputational threat to Diddy’s empire, which spans music, fashion, spirits, and media. His assets include stakes in DeLeón Tequila and Revolt TV, both of which have reportedly faced increased scrutiny since the legal troubles began.

Public attention has remained high. Former U.S. President Donald Trump recently compared Diddy to Ghislaine Maxwell, claiming that Diddy once sought a presidential pardon during his administration. The comparison further fueled online debate over the scope of the allegations and the broader issue of accountability in the entertainment industry.

For now, Diddy’s legal team is preparing to challenge the federal sentence. The appeal process could take months and may determine whether the 50-month prison term stands. Meanwhile, the civil lawsuits continue to unfold, marking one of the most significant legal crises in modern hip-hop history.

The outcome of Diddy’s appeal and the pending lawsuits will likely shape the next chapter of his once-celebrated career.
