Cardi B Announces New Single “UP” Dropping This Week

Cardi B Announces New Single “UP” Dropping This Week! Cardi B took to social media to tease a big announcement. A day later, the rapper revealed “UP” her follow up to “WAP” will be dropping this week. Cardi announced via her twitter page she’d be dropping her new single on Friday this week.

“My new single “UP” drops this Friday! LETS GOOOOOO! #Up” tweeted the rapper.

The rapper has even gone to the extent of transforming the art from the upcoming single into a real outfit. In an Instagram video, she shared the rapper captioned; “This outfit was all sticker on.UP OUT FRIDAY !! You ready ?” She also asked fans to pre-order her new single’s CD on her website; “UP & ITS STUCK CD #2 preorder is live now on my website.” She tweeted.

Cardi dropped the now-triple platinum “WAP” featuring Megan Thee Stallion in August last year. Before that, the rapper had not released a single since 2018’s “Money”. The pressure for a new album from Cardi is real. Since the release of her debut album Invasion Of Privacy in April 2018, the rapper has had many people doubt her future musical endeavors. Her fans have been all over her with expectations of some new music from her, whether a new project or a single.

Her 2018 album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 255,000 album-equivalent units. Her 2 singles, “Bodak Yellow” and “I Like It,” each reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, and the project made history breaking multiple records including making Cardi B the first female artist to have all tracks from an album certified gold or higher by the RIAA.

The “UP” single will mark Cardi’s first single of the year and her official follow-up to her 2020 hit, “WAP” featuring Megan Thee Stallion.

The coronavirus pandemic clearly took a toll on the roll out of Cardi B‘s follow-up to Invasion Of Privacy. With her release of the “Up” single this Friday, Cardi B will certainly kick off the year on a strong footing.
