Young Thug Criticizes Kendrick Lamar Amid Leaked Call Clips

Young Thug has found himself at the center of controversy again as multiple leaked audio clips reveal his opinions on fellow rappers and industry peers. Over the past few days, fans have heard Thug make comments about his relationship with Gunna, suggesting he once planned to drop music on the same day as his protege to overshadow his rollout. Other clips show him alleging that parts of Gunna’s streams were manipulated to secure the top spot on the Billboard 200 over The Weeknd’s Dawn FM.

Thug has also criticized Migos and claimed Gucci Mane became “soft” after leaving jail. The latest leak focuses on his 2023 album, Business Is Business, where he reportedly criticized Kendrick Lamar for refusing to give him a feature. In the clip, Thug asked, “These n****s too big, like ‘I ain’t doing no features,’ why? Why wouldn’t you wanna do a feature for a superstar?” He noted that artists like Lil Durk, Lil Baby, and himself had all reached out to Lamar. “Put somebody on! It’s okay to run your few hundred M’s up, but who’d you help, though?” he continued.

Thug compared Lamar to Drake, stating, “You supposed to be a n*a blessing niggas. That’s why these ns will never be bigger than Drake, EVER in life.” He suggested that collaborating with artists like himself, Lil Baby, and Lil Durk could improve Lamar’s popularity among mainstream listeners beyond hip-hop audiences. He also claimed the East Coast doesn’t “fk with” Lamar, implying that features could boost his reputation.

In the same clips, Thug mocked Lamar’s limited social media presence, suggesting he should delete his accounts rather than try to “prove” he doesn’t use the internet. He also insulted Baby Keem, calling him “bullst a Keem,” a remark unlikely to encourage Lamar to feature him in the future.

Amid the leaks, Thug teased an announcement set for Tuesday, September 2, leaving fans speculating about a potential release date for his comeback album, Uy Scuti. After a wave of controversial clips, fans hope the announcement will shift the focus back to his music.

These leaked clips continue to fuel discussion around Thug’s relationships with other rappers and his outspoken approach to the music industry, keeping him in the headlines as anticipation builds for his next project.
