Doechii to Join Kendrick Lamar for Grand National Tour Dates in Australia

Doechii will be joining Kendrick Lamar for two newly added stadium shows on the Grand National Tour in Australia. The performances are set for December 4 in Melbourne and December 11 in Sydney. Tickets will go on sale Monday, August 11.
This marks a major opportunity for Doechii, who has gained traction with her genre-blending sound and bold performances. The Australian shows will replace SZA, who has been co-headlining the tour with Lamar but will not continue with the international leg. ScHoolboy Q is also slated to perform as an opening act.
Online reactions to Doechii’s addition have been mixed. Some fans expressed excitement about her performance potential. One user wrote, “She’s about to kill it and have Twitter rolling racist BS at her like they have been since she broke out.” Another said, “Anxiety is an annoying song but her actual music is basically just pure poetry.”
Others criticized the decision, reviving old accusations that Doechii is an “industry plant.” A viral post said, “Kendrick was relevant for a quick week feeding off Drake and this other girl just getting fed down our throats.” Another user wrote, “The two people with more bots than fans unite.”
Doechii has addressed these claims before. In a February interview with The Cut, she said, “Once you get any conspiracies around your career, that’s just confirmation that I’m going somewhere, and I’m doing something right.” She added, “I’m pretty detached emotionally from it because I understand where it’s coming from.”
The Grand National Tour continues to sell out venues across North America. Lamar and SZA will wrap up the U.S. leg in October before Kendrick heads to Australia. Lamar has also been nominated for 10 awards at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, which highlights his continued influence on the industry.
Doechii’s involvement in the international shows adds a fresh layer to the tour’s evolving lineup. Whether fans love or hate the decision, she’s likely to command attention on one of the biggest stages of the year.
