A brand-new trailer for Highest 2 Lowest, Spike Lee’s upcoming film starring Denzel Washington and A$AP Rocky, has just dropped and it’s already making waves. The action-packed preview not only teases gripping drama but also offers fans a taste of a new A$AP Rocky track, igniting fresh excitement over his long-delayed album, Don’t Be Dumb.

On a recent appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, director Spike Lee praised Rocky’s on-screen performance, saying the rapper more than holds his own opposite Oscar-winner Denzel Washington.
“Yeah, don’t sleep on A$AP,” Lee told Fallon. “In this film, Denzel and A$AP go toe-to-toe. What’s interesting is, even before I got involved with this film, I always thought that A$AP looked like he could be Denzel’s son. There’s a big resemblance. So when you see it on the screen, it adds an element of father and son.”
He continued, “I’ve done five films with Denzel, and a lot of times when he’s in a scene with somebody, they just get overwhelmed. He’s one of the greatest living actors today, but A$AP wasn’t having that. Toe-to-toe, I mean, they were going at it.”
Highest 2 Lowest is described as a modern reinterpretation of Akira Kurosawa’s 1963 masterpiece High and Low. In Lee’s version, the story follows a powerful music mogul (played by Washington) who becomes the target of a high-stakes ransom plot. The film blends psychological tension with urban grit, featuring a cast that also includes Ilfenesh Hadera, Jeffrey Wright, and rapper-turned-actress Ice Spice.
