50 Cent’s “In Da Club” Hits 2 Billion Streams on Spotify, Cementing Its Legacy

50 Cent’s iconic track “In Da Club” from his 2003 debut album Get Rich or Die Tryin’ has surpassed 2 billion streams on Spotify. Fewer than 300 songs in the platform’s history have reached this milestone, a sign of the song’s enduring popularity more than two decades after release.

Signed to Shady/Aftermath, 50 Cent dropped Get Rich or Die Tryin’ in January 2003, with “In Da Club” as the lead single. The anthem climbed to number one on the US Billboard Hot 100, holding the top spot for nine weeks and marking his first chart-topping hit. It went on to earn Diamond certification from the RIAA, one of hip hop’s few Diamond singles.

The track’s beat was produced by Dr. Dre and Mike Elizondo, who originally offered it to D12 and Rakim before 50 Cent made it his own. Its success helped define early 2000s hip hop and establish 50 Cent as a mainstream force in music.

The music video, directed by Philip Atwell, also became a massive hit. It won Best Rap Video and Best New Artist at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards and has amassed over 2.5 billion views on YouTube, underscoring its continued relevance to new generations of fans.

Streaming success is not limited to this one song. At least three other 50 Cent tracks have reached the Spotify Billions Club, including “Candy Shop,” “P.I.M.P.”, and “Hate It or Love It.” These numbers show that his catalog still connects with global listeners daily.

In addition to the Spotify milestone, 50 Cent finished 2025 as the most-streamed New York rapper on YouTube, surpassing other major artists in total views.

The new streaming milestone for “In Da Club” highlights its place as a timeless hip hop anthem. Far from fading, the song continues to dominate playlists worldwide and remains central to 50 Cent’s legacy as a defining artist of his era.
