A$AP Rocky’s Album “Don’t Be Dumb” Faces Low Pre-Orders Ahead of January 2026 Release

A$AP Rocky’s highly anticipated album, “Don’t Be Dumb,” reportedly had only about 6,000 pre-orders before they were canceled in 2024, according to Shopify backend data obtained by Kurrco. The news comes as Rocky announced a new release date for the project during a performance at Camp Flog Gnaw last month. Fans can expect the album to drop on January 16, 2026.
The low pre-order numbers have fueled speculation on social media that Rocky delayed the release to avoid a commercial flop. On X (formerly Twitter), one fan wrote, “U cant unscrew the pooch. Bros album flopping is inevitable so just keep it brochacho,” while another warned, “Flop of the century incoming!”
Rocky previously addressed the delays in an interview with Elle in September 2025, citing personal life challenges. He said, “I don’t want to primarily blame it on my case, but life was lifeing. We don’t plan on having children, but when it happens, you gotta adjust and move with it. I gotta be present for my family, because that’s first.” At the time, he was dealing with allegations stemming from a 2022 incident involving his former friend ASAP Relli, for which a jury eventually found him not guilty.
In addition to his career, Rocky’s personal life has been a focus. He and Rihanna welcomed their third child in September 2025. During an October interview with Perfect, Rocky referred to himself as Rihanna’s husband, though it remains unclear if they are legally married. He explained, “I think peace really makes me happy. Being a father and a partner and a loving husband in my family is what makes me really, really happy. I hope this doesn’t sound cliché, and I would hate if it does, because that’s what honestly does get me going. Being able to express myself creatively, being able to be a family man and being able to be an artisan. It doesn’t matter what hat I wear that day, it’s just about being able to give it my all and do these things.”
Fans will finally have the opportunity to hear Rocky’s long-awaited project in January, following a period of personal and professional challenges that contributed to the album’s delay and low pre-order numbers.
