Tyler, The Creator’s Cherry Bomb Returns to Billboard 200 for 10th Anniversary

Tyler, The Creator’s 2015 album Cherry Bomb has returned to the Billboard 200 following a 10th anniversary reissue. The album earned 52,000 equivalent album units this week, a significant jump from the previous week’s “negligible sum,” a term Billboard uses for albums that typically sell fewer than 500 copies in a week.

For the anniversary, Tyler reissued Cherry Bomb with three vinyl variants, CDs, and deluxe boxed sets, each including a piece of branded clothing and a copy of the CD. Physical sales drove the resurgence, accounting for 51,000 of the 52,000 units moved.

When originally released in 2015, Cherry Bomb sold 51,000 copies in its first week, debuting at number four on the Billboard 200 behind Shawn Mendes’ debut album, the Furious 7 soundtrack, and Reba McEntire’s Love Somebody.

This week, the top spot went to K-pop group Stray Kids with Karma, which sold nearly 300,000 total units. Other albums above Cherry Bomb included the K-Pop Demon Hunters soundtrack, Morgan Wallen’s I’m The Problem, Laufey’s A Matter Of Time, and Deftones’ Private Music.

Re-entering the top 10 with a decade-old album highlights Tyler’s dedicated fanbase. His recent release, DON’T TAP THE GLASS, moved nearly 200,000 copies in its first week despite missing several potential sales days due to a Monday release.

Tyler’s 96-show Chromakopia Tour is approaching its end, with nine shows remaining. The final date will take place on September 21 in the Philippines, concluding a seven-month tour across 20 countries. While Cherry Bomb songs have not appeared in the tour setlist so far, fans may get a chance to hear a few tracks during the remaining dates.
