Rick Ross Teases New Single With J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League Amid Ongoing Drake Tensions

Rick Ross has been noticeably quiet in 2025 when it comes to solo releases. Instead, the Miami rapper has been active on features, lending verses to artists across different genres. His recent collaborations include Kris Krelli, country star Morgan Wallen, Bosnian rapper Jala Brat, and Mexican artist Santa Fe Klan. That run has kept his name in circulation, but signs now point to a major solo comeback.
According to hip hop insider Ahmed, also known as The Ears on Instagram and BigBizTheGo on X, Ross is preparing to drop a new single with production from J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League. Fans of Ross know the Tampa-based production trio well. They are behind some of his best-loved records like Aston Martin Music, Thug Cry, and Sixteen. Their resume also includes collaborations with MGK on Till I Die, Jay Rock on Hood Gon Love It, and many more.
The new track reportedly carries the luxurious, soulful sound that has defined Ross at his peak. Early descriptions highlight a strong soul sample blended with J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League’s trademark polished production. Listeners can expect the type of grandiose backdrop that Ross thrives on.
What is drawing the most attention, though, are the bars Ross delivers. One of the leaked lines reads:
“I’m walking off on you goofy n*s that act funny / All you DC YoungFly’s get one time / Hopping barbed as n** don’t cross the gunline.”
At face value, the lines sound like general competition talk. But given Ross’ recent history, speculation is growing that they could be aimed at Drake. The two rappers have been at odds since the Kendrick Lamar feud reignited tensions across the industry. Ross unfollowed Drake on Instagram after the release of We Don’t Trust You, which triggered a wave of back-and-forth shots.
Drake fired the first lyrical jab at Ross on Push Ups, mocking his involvement in the battle. Ross countered with Champagne Moments, but the exchange fizzled without further responses. Still, their relationship has stayed icy.
Drake recently stirred the pot again during an interview with Bobbi Althoff, quipping, “You’ve never seen someone ice rosé? Well, talk to every jeweler in Miami that has fake diamonds.” While Ross didn’t immediately respond to that, he later took shots at Drake’s ICEMAN rollout and its poor streaming performance, even referencing Twitch star Kai Cenat’s blunt review of the project.
If the upcoming single does contain subliminal shots, it could reopen the Ross and Drake feud in a big way. For now, fans are waiting on an official release date from Ross and J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League. Given their track record, expectations are high that this could mark a serious return to form for the Maybach Music boss.
