NBA YoungBoy Sets Record With 34th Billboard 200 Album Entry

NBA YoungBoy keeps breaking records with his relentless output. His new album MASA recently became his 34th project to chart on the Billboard 200, making him the rapper with the most entries in the chart’s history, according to Billboard. The previous record holder was E-40.
MASA debuted at number six on the Billboard 200, selling 49,000 album-equivalent units in its first week in the U.S., per Luminate. This marks YoungBoy’s 16th top ten album, tying him with Jay-Z and Nas for third-most top tens among rappers. Only Drake (17) and Future (18) have more.
Other rappers’ Billboard 200 entries include Snoop Dogg with 30, Gucci Mane and Tech N9ne with 29, Lil Wayne and Nas with 24, Jay-Z with 23, 2Pac with 21, and Future with 20.
YoungBoy first appeared on the Billboard 200 in 2017 with his AI YoungBoy mixtape, which peaked at number 24. In fewer years than any other rapper on the list, he climbed to the top. He was especially prolific in 2018 and 2022, releasing eight charting projects each year.
Of his 34 entries, eight are studio albums, 20 mixtapes, three compilations, and three EPs. He admitted to Billboard in 2023 that dropping music is addictive, saying, “I tell myself sometimes, ‘I’m not going to drop until months from now,’ but it’s addictive. I wish I knew when I was younger how unhealthy this was for me.”
While NBA YoungBoy faces ongoing conflicts in the hip-hop world, his output and records prove his music remains the focus and strength of his career.
