Kendrick Lamar Makes History With Three Albums in Billboard 200’s Top 10

Kendrick Lamar has once again solidified his status as one of hip-hop’s greatest. On Sunday, it was announced that he became the first rapper ever to have three albums simultaneously chart in the Billboard 200’s top 10. His latest album, GNX, along with his critically acclaimed projects DAMN. and Good Kid, M.A.A.D City, are all holding strong within the coveted rankings.
Another Historic Moment for Kendrick Lamar
This latest achievement comes during a monumental month for the Compton lyricist. Lamar dominated the Grammy Awards, sweeping multiple categories thanks to his hit single “Not Like Us.” The track, which played a key role in his widely discussed feud with Drake, continues to see a surge in streams. Following his Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show performance, the song’s streams skyrocketed 430% within three hours on Spotify. Meanwhile, classics like “HUMBLE.” and “All the Stars” (featuring SZA) also saw massive boosts, rising 300% and 290%, respectively.
Lamar’s debut album, Good Kid, M.A.A.D City (2012), continues to prove its longevity, while DAMN. (2017) remains his highest-selling project to date. GNX, his latest release under the pgLang imprint, debuted at No. 1 in December 2024 and features fan-favorite tracks like “luther,” “tv off,” “squabble up,” and “hey now.”
Fans Celebrate Kendrick’s Legacy
Social media erupted in celebration following the news, with fans recognizing the significance of this milestone. One user tweeted, “Keep in mind that this is 3 albums in the top ten AND a single at #1 that’s not even on any of these albums.” Another fan referenced Lamar’s Super Bowl performance, quoting his lyrics: “They were sleepin’ on him…but the revolution’s ’bout to be televised, you picked the right time, but the wrong guy.”
Many acknowledged that Lamar’s impact goes beyond music. “We are living to see the making of an all-time legend before our eyes,” tweeted another fan. “They will be memorializing this man with statues and teaching college classes about him in the future. Kendrick is something else.”
The Grand National Tour Kicks Off This April
Lamar isn’t slowing down anytime soon. This April, he and SZA will embark on the Grand National Tour, which will support GNX. The tour kicks off in the U.S. before heading to international stages this summer.
With historic accolades, record-breaking streams, and an upcoming tour, Kendrick Lamar’s reign in hip-hop is far from over.
