Nipsey Hussle’s Posthumous Album with Bino Rideaux Set for Summer Release

Nipsey Hussle’s legacy continues to thrive, as his brother Blacc Sam has confirmed that a posthumous album featuring Bino Rideaux will be released this summer. The highly anticipated project is based on recordings Nipsey completed before his tragic passing in 2019.

Blacc Sam recently spoke with Power 106 Los Angeles, where he provided insight into the album’s development. He made it clear that the family and team are committed to preserving Nipsey’s artistic integrity by only releasing music he personally worked on.

“If Hussle didn’t actually do the verse or work with the person or kind of like put together the blueprint for the project, we not doing it,” Sam explained. “He did something with Bino, and there’s a new project that we’re about to release. This was a project that he had with Bino that was pretty much like 80% finished. So, the team kind of came in, got some unreleased verses and music that he had done with Bino, and just tightened it up. It sounds amazing. It should be coming out around this summer. The team is real excited. We just finished going over all the stuff for the last three weeks with everybody.”

The collaboration between Nipsey Hussle and Bino Rideaux is not surprising, as the two shared a musical bond. Bino, a South Central Los Angeles native, previously worked with Nipsey on the 2017 mixtape No Pressure and has continued to carry forward the essence of the Marathon movement in his own career.

While specific details about the album remain under wraps, this isn’t the first time Blacc Sam has mentioned the project. Earlier this month, he referenced the collaboration during an interview with The Hip Hop Museum, though he was initially uncertain about whether the album would be released. “[T]here’s another project that he actually worked on… I don’t know if we want to, but we probably could. This is the perfect time. It’s with him and Bino. There was a second project he did with Bino. We’re putting that together and trying to figure out when we release it.”

Beyond the album, Blacc Sam also revealed that a documentary chronicling Nipsey Hussle’s life and career is in the works. The documentary will be released as an eight-episode series, though no official release date has been set.

Fans of the late rapper remain eager to hear new material that reflects Nipsey Hussle’s vision, and with Blacc Sam and The Marathon team overseeing the project, it’s expected to be a powerful addition to his enduring legacy.
