After performing his protest song “The Bigger Picture” with Killer Mike and Tamika Mallory, Lil Baby clearly made the loudest statement from the 2021 Grammy Awards. While coming out stage, he noticed a familiar face backstage and saw to it that he got past his post-performance jitters to introduce himself.

“I met jay z,” a proud Lil Baby said  on Twitter following his performance “He let the security walk with bey an he walked by his self. Boss Sh*t.”

Jay-Z and Beyoncé were sure to attend the 2021 Grammy Awards during which Beyoncé set the bar higher with her record for the most Grammy wins ever. With 28, Beyoncé became the most awarded artist in Grammy history. Beyoncé also led other nominees at the event with the most nominations. The couple’s unwavering support for Megan Thee Stallion as the rapper made sure she walked away with her first-ever Grammy Awards that night. Beyoncé became the unexpected center of attention for the better part of the evening as the cameras continued to hover over to The Carters while different performances and award-acceptance speeches were on-going.

During a recent interview with Billboard, the Atlanta rapper talked about his initial reaction after meeting Jay-Z and how he looks forward to be like the billionaire rapper someday. “I’m really not that fond of meeting other celebrities, but Jay-Z is a guy who I look up to, and look up to the way he moves and the things that he’s done,” he said. “I see myself following in his footsteps.”

Of course meeting someone of Jay-Z’s calibre would be such a highlight in anyone’s life, but for Lil Baby, it had an even deeper meaning. Who knows? maybe one day, we’ll see Baby grow to become an accomplished billionaire rapper-entrepreneur in the near future just like his role model Jay-Z.
