50 Cent Celebrates “Get Rich Or Die Tryin” Accomplishments + ‘The Massacre! Nearly 18 years have gone by since 50 Cent’s debut album landed way back in 2003. Very few albums have made it to the same level as 50 Cent’s Get Rich Or Die Tryin. The “Power” star is now celebrating his musical successes, specifically that of his first two projects.

Wednesday (March 3) saw the“In Da Club” emcee take to social media to celebrate the sales his debut album Get Rich or Die Tryin’ earned him as well as The Massacre, his second studio album.

“Everybody loves diamonds,” writes Fif alongside a photo of some information about the 2003 record. “13 million records sold. Not bad for a first album.” He then shared some details about his second album which was released on March 3, 2005- that’s 16 years ago. “Second [diamond]. This [is] not bad for a kid from South Side,” he wrote on the post about The Massacre.

It should be noted that despite 50 Cent mentioning diamond status in his posts, his first two albums are yet to be certified diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America’s on their website. According to the RIAA, as of Feb. 2020, Get Rich or Die Tryin’ — which marked its 18th anniversary last month has gone platinum nine times, while The Massacre stands at six times platinum.

50 has  recently turned into an entrepreneur, with music now taking a back seat. Besides performing some of his classics during club appearances, the “Many Men” rapper dropped his single and the theme song of “Power Book III: Raising Kanan,” “Part of the Game” with an assist from NLE Choppa in January and has also been featured on Pop Smoke’s debut album.

Clearly, we have to all agree that Get Rich Or Die Tryin comes out as one of the most beloved albums of all time, and that fact is certainly confirmed by the numbers. Congratulations are in order to 50 Cent for achieving a milestone with his debut, we hope he returns one day with one last project before he decides to hang up the mic for good.
