Watch! TDE Shares Epic Kendrick Lamar Throwback

TDE Shares Epic Kendrick Lamar Throwback! Kendrick Lamar has cemented his name in the rap industry as one of the most influential artists of his generation. The rapper stands out owing to his unique style and approach to hip- hop music. Having dropped his last album in 2017, it’s most definitely been a long wait for his fans out there. But one hard truth hip-hop fans have come to accept is that there’s an ongoing drought  and the missing element is Kendrick Lamar’s music.

That said, millions of his followers have been left on scrounge for any sign of life, a search that has largely borne no fruit since the release of DAMN and the Black Panther OST.

There seems to be some light at the end of the tunnel, with rumors of a new Kendrick album strongly gaining momentum. Before that becomes a reality, however, TDE has decided to share a few morsels to tide us over. That came by way of a nostalgic throwback clip highlighting Lamar on the stage definitely one of his many natural elements. The performance in this context stems from the good kid, m.A.A.d city era, where Kendrick took the stage on Saturday Night Live and went ahead to make one hell of an impression.

Kendrick is backed by a locked-in live band who absolutely nails the “Swimming Pools” beat, imbuing it with the boosted energy often granted by live instrumentation, he delivers a lively performance of one of his early breakout singles. Thanks to the pandemic, it’s sadly beginning to feel like an eternity has passed since we ever experienced live option. At this rate, perhaps Kendrick Lamar‘s new album will be dropping during the post-vaccine return to normalcy so we can all get out to celebrate. In the meantime, all we can do is go back to the classics.
