Court Orders Dr. Dre To Pay For Estranged Wife’s Legal Fees. Here’s How Much

Court Orders Dr. Dre To Pay For Estranged Wife’s Legal Fees! The Dr. Dre-Nicole Young divorce case took a new turn this week. As per the DailyMail, the Los Angeles Superior Court gave a ruling on Tuesday (April 27) that Dr. Dre must pay over $500,000 within the next 10 days to estranged wife Nicole Young to pay for her legal fees.

But the $500,000 is only 10 percent of the $5 million Nicole is demanding the Hip Hop mogul should pay her in order to cover the duration of retaining her attorneys. Nicole Young is also asking for $2 million per month in spousal support from the West Coast rap icon amid reports that he’s already been parting with a reported $293,000 every month during the case.

“Pending the next hearing dates on this matter, the Court grants only $500,000 in attorney’s fees to petitioner’s (Nicole’s) counsel,” Judge Powell said. “Fees are to be paid to petitioner’s counsel, no later than May 7.”

The divorce case’s hearing on Tuesday marked the debut of Dr. Dre’s new attorney Joe Mannis. Nicole Young scored a huge legal victory earlier in April after she succeeded in having Dre’s powerful attorney duo of Laura Wasser and Howard King removed from the case after they were ruled to be a “conflict of interest.” King has represented both Young and Dre in the past.

Young filed for divorce against her former husband Dr. Dre in June 2020 and has leveled claims of abuse against the hip hop mogul. Many are eager to know what will be the court’s decision as far as enforcing the controversial prenup agreement, which was reportedly signed in 1996, but Young now claims Dr. Dre ripped it up in a romantic gesture.
