DaBaby Booked For Misdemeanor

DaBaby Booked For Misdemeanor – 2021 isn’t “A happy new Year” – not anymore at least for Dababy. The prominent rapper whose real name is Jonathan Kirk was enjoying shopping in Montcler Store on Rodeo Drive – a high-end shopping street in Beverly Hills when someone at Gucci store alerted the cops that someone on his crew was carrying weapons.

According to TMZ, the chat-topping rapper was on his way out of the store when he and three other men were surrounded by police just in time before they thought of driving off in their black SUV.

Dababy and his entourage were detained while Police officers searched their vehicle. A handgun was recovered from the search and the rapper sent to custody for carrying a loaded gun, a misdemeanor.

The celebrity rapper has emerged as one of America’s most successful rapper since 2019. His breakthrough hit Suge, topped the US album charts twice in 2019. 2020 was undoubtedly a good year for the rapper earning four Grammy Award nominations . The nominations were in  the Record of the Year, Best Melodic Rap Performance Pending and Best Rap Song categories – for his collaboration with Roddy Ricch “The Box” and last but not least the Best Rap Performance category for “BOP.”

His 12 nominations would enable him to feature at the 2020 BET Hip Hop Awards (although he didn’t take home a single award). “Blame It On Baby” his third studio album, debuted at number 1 at the Billboard 200.

Dababy was found guilty of carrying a weapon in 2019, after a shooting incident at a Walmart store in North Carolina that claimed the life of a 19-year-old man. The rapper admitted he was involved but it was an act of self defense. In January 2020 he once again found himself on the wrong side of the law after he was arrested on allegations of robbery and battery hence was charged with robbery and battery following separate incidents. The battery charges were however dropped later.
