Rapper Machine Gun Kelly gets a new waited first “win” and achievement as he celebrates his first number one album on the Billboard chart. This is the first time he has charted at the number one spot on the Billboard 200 chart of this past weekend.
Machine Gun Kelly‘s latest album ‘Tickets To My Downfall is now charted at the number 1 spot of the Billboard 200 of this past early October weekend. The rapper has never charted at number one before, so this is a big deal for him as he is at number 1 for the first time.
The 30 year old award winning alternative music rapper took to Twitter and shared that he has been waiting forever to finally bag such and achievement. he tweeted “Waited my entire life to repost this”.Eve though it his his first number one, this is not that musicians first Billboard top charting effort. Kelly’s ‘Hotel Diablo’ charted at number 5 in 2019, ‘ General Admission” charted number 4 in 2015 and ‘ Lace Up’ charted at number 4 in 2012.
‘Tickets To My Downfall’ was dropped on the 25th of September 2020, it was produced by Blink-182’s Travis Baker. The album features Halsey and Trippie Redd, it was surely a big switch as the artist moved from hip hop to punk rock. The album is the first rock album to top the Billboard chart since the past year. The album was surely given a boost by Kelly’s star girlfriend Megan Fox, as she appeared in one of the songs music videos.
The album has done well with it’s single “Bloody Valentine”. It has now also scored over 120 thousand sales in its first week, now the album is sitting at 81.1 million streams. Just a few days after release the deluxe version of the album was dropped with 6 bonus tracks.
