Kanye West Set to Break Attendance Records with Mexico City Shows

Kanye West is preparing for two consecutive performances in Mexico City that are set to make history. The first show, scheduled for January 30 at Plaza de Toros, sold out quickly, prompting the addition of a second night. Together, the concerts are expected to draw 74,000 attendees, surpassing the previous record held by a 2019 Roger Federer-Alexander Zverev exhibition match.

The shows promise to be larger than just Kanye alone. According to Mexican journalist Gil Barrera, Travis Scott, Peso Pluma, and Fuerza Regida will also perform. Peso Pluma and Fuerza Regida are Mexican artists, giving the hometown audience local representation, while Travis Scott brings his established chemistry with Ye to the stage. Fans can expect live renditions of their collaborations, including “Piss On Your Grave,” “Watch,” and “Wash Us In The Blood.”

These Mexico City performances coincide with the planned release of Kanye’s twelfth solo studio album, Bully, expected on January 30. The album reportedly features 13 tracks, with no features and no use of A.I. While Kanye has a history of album delays, the timing suggests the shows could serve as a live preview of new material.

The combination of record-breaking attendance, high-profile guest performances, and a potential album launch positions these concerts as one of the most significant events in Kanye West’s recent career. Fans and music critics alike are watching closely to see if Bully delivers and if the Mexico City shows live up to the hype.
