Finesse2tymes Sparks Controversy Over Bone Thugs-N-Harmony Sample

Finesse2tymes is back in the spotlight, this time targeting Bone Thugs-N-Harmony over a disputed sample fee. The Memphis rapper expressed frustration over the reported $40,000 cost to clear a portion of the 1997 track Notorious Thugs, originally by The Notorious B.I.G. featuring Bone Thugs.
In a video shared on January 23 and highlighted by XXL, Finesse claimed he reached out to Bone Thugs’ label directly instead of Bad Boy Records, only to be told the sample would cost $40,000. He said, “The label said y’all was trying to charge me $40,000 to clear that sh*t.” He later posted on social media, “I ain’t gone lie, Im goin on one of yall grill [Bone Thugs-N-Harmony]. Nyga ain’t never extorted me In my life, $15-$25k coo, BITXCH $40k Naw yall gotta see me cuh.”
Layzie Bone responded on behalf of the group, clarifying that Finesse should have contacted Bad Boy Records for clearance. Layzie added advice, saying, “Thirdly young man if you want to have longevity in this business like Bone slow down on them drugs and get you a team to help you understand and navigate the business. We grown and too old for drama, check yoself grasshoppers.”
Finesse2tymes took issue with Layzie’s “longevity” remark and continued posting videos critiquing it. The dispute currently appears one-sided, with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony responding calmly.
Finesse’s controversies extend beyond this dispute. He has ongoing feuds, including one with Offset. The conflict reportedly began after Finesse commented on Offset’s divorce from Cardi B and referenced Stefon Diggs, prompting Offset to react online. Finesse dismissed claims that Offset tried to track him down, saying, “You don’t wanna do sht btch as n***. Talking about, ‘Where he at?’ Acting tough.” As of now, the Bone Thugs-N-Harmony situation remains contained, but Finesse2tymes continues to generate headlines with his outspoken and unpredictable approach to conflicts in the music industry.
