J. Cole Trademarks ‘The Fall-Off’ Ahead of New Album and Single Release

J. Cole has officially returned. Last week, the rapper announced his seventh studio album, The Fall-Off, revealing the cover art and a cinematic trailer that teased the project’s tone. Fans have been eagerly awaiting new music, and the rollout shows Cole has been planning this for years.

According to Kurrco, J. Cole filed to trademark The Fall-Off back in October across multiple categories, including music and clothing, signaling a broad creative vision beyond just the album.

The announcement followed the release of the album’s first single, “Disc 2 Track 2,” which came with a music video and a heartfelt note from Cole. He explained that the project has been over a decade in the making, crafted as a personal challenge to deliver his best work. “I owed it first and foremost to myself. And secondly, I owed it to hip hop,” he wrote, highlighting the care and focus behind the project.

The Fall-Off is slated for release on February 6. Beyond the album, Cole has more in store for fans. On a recent episode of the Joe & Jada podcast, Jadakiss revealed that Cole is working on a mixtape featuring beats from The Lox. According to Jadakiss, Cole rapped over classics like “Money, Power & Respect” and “Can I Live,” delivering strong performances.

With the combination of The Fall-Off and a potential Lox-inspired mixtape, J. Cole is set to make a major return, reaffirming his place as one of hip hop’s most influential voices.
