Never-Before-Seen Footage of Diddy Released Ahead of Netflix Docuseries

New footage of Sean “Diddy” Combs in the days leading up to his September 2024 arrest has emerged ahead of the release of 50 Cent and Netflix’s docuseries, Sean Combs: The Reckoning. The first teaser, released on December 1, shows Diddy in a New York City hotel room making a tense phone call with his lawyers just days before he was charged with racketeering and sex-related offenses.

During the call, Diddy, who was facing multiple sexual assault lawsuits at the time, tells his team, “We have to find somebody that’ll work with us, that has dealt in the dirtiest of dirty business … We’re losing!”

Additional unseen clips were broadcast by Good Morning America, including footage of Diddy greeting fans in his native Harlem shortly before his indictment. While being driven away, he jokes with his entourage, “I need some hand sanitizer! I’ve been down the streets amongst the people. The amount of people that I’m coming into contact with, that’s what I have to do [laughs]. It’s like a 150 hugs!”

50 Cent, who executive produced the series, described the clip as a candid moment that shows Diddy’s character. He emphasized that the series is not shaped by his personal rivalry with the mogul. “What they consider a pre-existing beef for 20 years is me being uncomfortable with him suggesting that he takes me shopping. I looked at like he was testing me. It’s not personal,” he said.

50 Cent, who has publicly criticized Diddy since lawsuits involving ex-girlfriend Cassie surfaced, also suggested the mogul would recognize the documentary as truthful. When asked how Diddy might react, he said, “I think he’s gonna say, ‘This is the best documentary I’ve seen in a long time.’ He knows it’s the truth.”

Directed by Alexandria Stapleton, Sean Combs: The Reckoning explores the life of the media mogul, music legend, and convicted offender. The four-part series examines the empire Diddy built and the challenges and controversies that lay beneath its surface.

All four episodes of Sean Combs: The Reckoning premiere on Netflix on December 2.
