Drake Becomes First Artist to Reach 120 Billion Spotify Streams

Drake has solidified his status as a streaming powerhouse, becoming the first artist to reach 120 billion streams on Spotify, according to Chart Data. This milestone includes all of his solo work as well as collaborations with other artists.

The achievement extends Drake’s lead as the most-streamed artist on the platform. Taylor Swift, in second place, has over 110 billion streams, roughly 10 billion behind Drake. Bad Bunny ranks third, making him the only other artist with more than 100 billion streams. The Weeknd, Justin Bieber, and Ed Sheeran follow with 84.5 billion, 64.2 billion, and 59.6 billion streams, respectively.

Drake’s most-streamed song remains “One Dance,” with over 3.7 billion plays. The track was also his first solo number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2016. Other top tracks include “God’s Plan” with 2.8 billion streams, “Passionfruit” at 1.9 billion, and “Work” and “Hotline Bling,” both with 1.5 billion streams.

It is unclear if Drake or Spotify plan an official celebration for the 120 billion milestone. When he reached 100 billion streams in 2022, Drake was honored with a special FC Barcelona jersey. During that El Clásico match against Real Madrid, Barça sported OVO owl jerseys sponsored by Spotify. The game ended in a 3-1 defeat for Barcelona, though the club still secured the La Liga title that season.

Drake’s streaming dominance highlights his ability to maintain popularity even after high-profile setbacks, such as last year’s perceived loss in his battle with Kendrick Lamar. The Toronto rapper continues to lead the global streaming landscape and set new records.
