Playboi Carti Celebrates 29th Birthday and Teases New Music from Upcoming Album “BABY BOI”

Playboi Carti marked his 29th birthday with a party in New York City that doubled as a music preview for his fans. During the celebration, Carti played snippets of two unreleased tracks, “Wicked” and “Killers,” in clips posted online by photographer Kish. While it is unclear if either of the songs will appear on his upcoming album BABY BOI, the previews have reignited anticipation among listeners eager for new material.
BABY BOI will follow Carti’s 2024 album MUSIC. According to DJ Swamp Izzo and Carti’s girlfriend Giovanna “Gio” Ramos, the project is already finished and set to drop soon. Izzo hinted at the album’s status during a conversation with a fan in August, though many remain cautious given Carti’s history of delays.
The rapper is known for long rollouts and unpredictable release schedules. Whole Lotta Red went through years of hype and pushbacks before arriving in 2020. MUSIC faced a similar pattern, taking nearly five years to come out. That said, between new leaks, snippets, and talk from Carti’s circle, fans are starting to feel optimistic about BABY BOI’s arrival.
Still, there is no official release date. Even the most hopeful supporters recognize Carti’s track record with release timing, meaning BABY BOI could arrive in weeks or years. The lack of a firm timeline has not dampened excitement, as many see the steady flow of updates as a positive sign compared to past album cycles.
Carti recently wrapped his run as the opener for The Weeknd’s After Hours Til Dawn Tour. He will shift focus to his own Antagonist 2.0 Tour, which kicks off October 3 and runs until December 1. The tour will also feature artists from his Opium label, giving fans more chances to experience new music live.
For now, fans are left to speculate whether “Wicked” and “Killers” will make the final tracklist and when BABY BOI will actually drop. What remains certain is that Carti continues to keep the spotlight firmly on him, both with his music previews and upcoming tour plans.
