Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist Confirm Work Has Started on Alfredo 3

The Alfredo series has become a landmark in hip hop collaborations, cementing Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist as one of the most consistent rapper-producer duos of the past decade. Following the critical success of Alfredo in 2020 and Alfredo 2 earlier this year, fans will be pleased to know that work on Alfredo 3 is already underway.

In a conversation with Complex’s Jordan Rose, both artists made it clear that the franchise is far from over. “It’s a franchise now, so I’d be lying if I said we weren’t already cooking,” The Alchemist said. Freddie Gibbs added, “Oh, we gon’ come with some s**t, you gon’ see.” The producer wrapped the exchange with a reminder: “No sneak peeks, man.”

Alfredo 2 has already been widely recognized as one of the standout releases of 2025, blending sharp lyricism with Alchemist’s atmospheric beats. The chemistry between Gibbs and Uncle Al continues to set a high bar, and the prospect of a third installment only builds anticipation. Given the five-year gap between Alfredo and Alfredo 2, however, fans may need patience before the next chapter arrives.

The duo will also bring their music to the stage on an upcoming tour, which is expected to showcase their catalog and strengthen their reputation as one of hip hop’s most compelling partnerships.

Not all past collaborations have carried the same positive energy. Curren$y recently reignited tension with Freddie Gibbs over their 2018 joint project Fetti, which also featured The Alchemist. On his new album 8/30, Curren$y addressed the fallout directly:
“Told me start a Chevy, but I brought the Rolls out / Used to be homies, tried to include me in their rollout / Woke up to animosity I ain’t even know about / I turned some ‘Office’ re-runs on and I zoned out.”
The lines suggest that a reconciliation between Gibbs and Curren$y is unlikely anytime soon.

Meanwhile, The Alchemist continues to stir excitement beyond Alfredo. On Drink Champs alongside Erykah Badu, he hinted at major albums coming soon, even suggesting that Jay-Z may have something in the works.

For now, the biggest news remains the confirmation that Alfredo 3 is in motion. Based on the track record of the series, fans can reasonably expect another masterclass in production and lyricism, even if the wait ends up being long.
