Rob49 Rides the Wave of “WTHELLY” Success With New Album and Headlining Tour

Rob49 is having a breakout year—and he’s not slowing down anytime soon. After taking over social media with his viral hit “WTHELLY” in March, the New Orleans rapper has quickly cemented his place as one of hip-hop’s most exciting rising stars.

“I knew ‘WTHELLY’ might be big, but I’m not gonna lie, to be a game changer is crazy,” Rob49 told The FADER. “The only thing I wanted out of ‘WTHELLY’ was to change the culture and make people start saying ‘what the helly’ – but it wind up being bigger than that forreal.” His signature catchphrase has caught fire online, and the track’s explosive momentum helped launch Rob49 into mainstream recognition.

Building on the buzz, Rob49 dropped his latest album Let Me Fly in May, featuring major guest appearances from Sexyy Red, Cardi B, and Lil Wayne. The album has been well-received for its hard-hitting beats, confident bars, and undeniable New Orleans flavor. And just weeks after the original release, Rob49 doubled down by adding seven new tracks to the Let Me Fly (Deluxe) edition while on tour with WHAM.

Now, the 25-year-old rapper is ready to take the stage on his own terms. He recently announced his first-ever headlining solo tour, fittingly titled the Let Me Fly Tour, set to kick off this October. The tour will take him across North America, including stops in Atlanta, Toronto, Chicago, Denver, and more, before wrapping up in Houston, Texas at the end of November.

“This tour is for the fans who’ve been rocking with me since day one,’” Rob49 shared in a press statement. “It’s been a wild year, and now it’s my turn to bring the party to every city.”
