Cardi B Set to Drop New Single “Outside” Amid Offset Drama

Cardi B is officially back with new music. The Grammy-winning rap sensation has confirmed that her long-awaited first release of 2025, titled Outside, will arrive on Friday, June 20.

The Bronx-born hitmaker made the announcement on Instagram, posting the single’s artwork that features a nostalgic summer street scene, complete with a gushing fire hydrant and a warm city sidewalk. Captioning the post, Cardi declared, “We OUTSIDE this Friday.”

Fans already got a taste of what to expect when an earlier snippet of the song surfaced online, showing Cardi diving into personal revelations. In the preview, she raps, “I’ve been cuffed up too long, let me remind n-ggas,” making it clear that she’s ready to reclaim her independence and fire up the summer with signature boldness.

The track is also rumored to include lines referencing her connection with New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs. In the leaked verse, Cardi brags, “Your favorite player on your favorite team, he in my DM,” fuelling speculation about her current romantic situation following her high-profile split from Offset.

Cardi recently opened up on X Spaces about the mental toll her relationship with Offset had taken, admitting that she was at a breaking point before their separation. “I don’t think people understand how tired I was… I was mentally drained,” she confessed. “Couldn’t eat—I was getting frequent headaches. I was literally losing my mind. I gave [him] chances after chances.”

She went on to reveal just how bad things had gotten, saying, “If I was still there, I was gonna end up going to jail. Cause I was gonna end up killing him, seriously, with my own bare hands.”

Meanwhile, Offset has not stayed silent. After videos surfaced showing Cardi getting cozy with Diggs aboard a yacht—including a clip of her twerking in a swimsuit while Diggs playfully spanked her—Offset appeared to throw subtle shade. On social media, he cryptically commented, “Good roll out n PR,” suggesting the public romance may be more calculated than it appears.

The ongoing tension comes as the estranged couple continues to battle out their divorce settlement. Offset is reportedly seeking joint custody of their children as well as spousal support. The pair, who share three kids together, separated last year just before the birth of their youngest.

With Outside dropping at a pivotal moment in her personal life, Cardi B seems ready to turn the page and refocus the spotlight on her music. As anticipation builds, fans are eager to hear how the superstar channels heartbreak, freedom, and resilience into her latest anthem.
