A$AP Rocky Builds Hype for Don’t Be Dumb With New Snippet and Easter Surprise
A$AP Rocky is ramping up excitement for his long-awaited album Don’t Be Dumb with a brand new snippet shared on Easter Sunday (April 20), offering fans a playful yet potent taste of what’s to come.
In true Flacko fashion, the Harlem rapper kept things unconventional by posting the clip on his Instagram Story while dressed head-to-toe in a bunny costume. The minute-long video featured him chilling outside among real bunnies, turning the holiday moment into a creative tease for his upcoming release.
The snippet itself carries Rocky’s signature energy and confident swagger. Over a hard-hitting beat, he raps:
“See you still with them steppers, tell them step it up / How you always come up short? You ain’t sell enough / If I pull my bitch out, I’ma dress her up / If I pull that [click-clack] out, I’ma mess it up.”
Fans quickly flooded social media with reactions, especially after the snippet was shared by music page Kurrco with the caption: “NEW A$AP ROCKY SNIPPET 🚨.”
More Hype, Still No Date
While Rocky continues to feed anticipation with sneak peeks, the release date for Don’t Be Dumb remains under wraps. During Paris Fashion Week last month, the stylish rapper dodged questions about the album’s timeline during an interview with The People Gallery.
“Don’t do me like that,” he said, laughing off the question. “ASAP! Listen, don’t make me do that right now, man. You gon’ get me beat up out here, bro. They on my head, bro, ’cause of questions like that. I can’t even… I gotta go right now.”
Earlier in February, Rocky offered a more substantial update during an interview with GQ. He confirmed the album is done and currently in the mixing and mastering phase.
“I think quite frankly, people are tired of hearing about updates about the album,” he said. “They’re just ready to get this shit… I promise I got some new shit in store. I’m challenging myself. It’s like anything—I approach it with a different tactic, degree, or finesse.”
He added: “The album’s done. I just want to drop it. I don’t want to keep saying what I’m going to do. I want to give people what I’ve been promising them for a long-ass fucking time.”
The Wait Continues
Don’t Be Dumb was initially set for release on August 30, 2024, but was later delayed without a clear new date. Despite the hold-up, Rocky has kept his fans entertained with guest verses, fashion appearances, and teasers like the Easter snippet.
With the album now confirmed to be complete, it seems a release could be imminent—though in typical Rocky fashion, he’s choosing to keep fans guessing a little longer. Until then, the Easter bunny bars will have to hold them over.
