Lil Wayne Set to Release Tha Carter VI After Seven Years: Album Artwork and Merchandise Revealed

Nearly seven years after the release of Tha Carter V, Lil Wayne is officially reviving his legendary Tha Carter series with the upcoming release of Tha Carter VI. Today, the Louisiana icon shared the much-anticipated album artwork, marking the beginning of the highly anticipated rollout.

The cover pays homage to two of Wayne’s most iconic album covers, Tha Carter III and Tha Carter IV, both featuring his face as a child, covered in tattoos. However, this time around, Wayne has gone all in with an even more tattooed version of his younger self, flashing an adorable smile. The album artwork embraces a striking new color scheme of black, red, and white, with red being the dominant color. It also features the trademark Tha Carter lettering in a unique style, setting the tone for the sixth installment of his iconic album series.

But the album’s release isn’t the only exciting news. Lil Wayne has also launched an exclusive line of merchandise to go along with the album. Fans can purchase a standard vinyl version of Tha Carter VI for $30, or a standard CD for $14. There are also signed copies available, with the vinyl priced at $37 and the CD at $18. For those looking to rock some fresh gear, Wayne is offering a t-shirt for $45 and a hoodie, featuring artwork from all of Tha Carter album covers, for $100. While the vinyl is currently sold out, the CDs have been restocked, so fans can still grab a copy before they sell out.

The big question on everyone’s mind is: when is Tha Carter VI dropping? Lil Wayne confirmed that the album will be released on June 6, 2025. This release date follows his recent snub from performing at this year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show, fueling speculation that his absence was, in part, a strategy to build anticipation for the album’s drop.

Weezy has also revealed some of the star-studded features that will appear on Tha Carter VI. The tracklist remains under wraps for now, but confirmed collaborators include Wyclef Jean, Andrea Bocelli, Miley Cyrus, Elephant Man, Machine Gun Kelly, Bono, Kanye West, and even his son Kameron Carter. With such a diverse group of artists, Tha Carter VI is shaping up to be an exciting, genre-blending project.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting this moment for years, and Lil Wayne’s return to the Tha Carter series is set to make waves across the music world. With the release date on the horizon and merchandise already flying off the shelves, Tha Carter VI is poised to be one of the biggest hip-hop albums of 2025.
