Drake’s ICEMAN Holds Billboard 200 No. 1 For Second Week As Streaming Dominates Chart Performance

Drake continues his strong chart run as ICEMAN holds the No. 1 position on the Billboard 200 albums chart for a second consecutive week. The chart dated June 6 confirms the album earned 225,000 equivalent album units in the United States for the tracking week ending May 28. That figure reflects a sharp drop of 52 percent from its debut week, but it still kept enough momentum to stay ahead of competing releases. The performance highlights Drake’s continued dominance in streaming-driven album consumption. It also reinforces how quickly major releases can still maintain top positions when supported by strong digital engagement.

ICEMAN originally debuted at No. 1 a week earlier and arrived alongside two additional Drake projects that made history. HABIBTI and MAID OF HONOUR entered the chart in strong positions, giving Drake the rare achievement of holding the top three spots simultaneously. He became the first artist in Billboard 200 history to rank at Nos. 1, 2 and 3 in the same week across the chart’s 70-year timeline. In the second week, HABIBTI dropped to No. 7 with 53,000 equivalent units, while MAID OF HONOUR fell to No. 8 with 42,000 units. Both projects also saw significant week-to-week declines, reflecting the typical post-release streaming slowdown.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks albums based on multi-metric consumption, which includes album sales, track equivalent albums and streaming equivalent albums. Each unit represents one album sale, or 10 individual track sales from a release, or 2,500 ad-supported streams or 1,000 paid subscription streams. This system gives a more complete view of how audiences consume music in a streaming-first market. It also shows how heavily streaming influences chart positions compared to traditional sales. ICEMAN’s performance shows how dominant streaming has become in sustaining chart leaders.

Of ICEMAN’s 225,000 equivalent units in the latest tracking period, the vast majority came from streaming activity. Streaming equivalent albums accounted for 223,000 units, representing 228.45 million on-demand streams across its tracks. The album also led the Top Streaming Albums chart for a second week, confirming its digital strength. Album sales contributed 1,000 units, while track equivalent albums also contributed 1,000 units. Both categories saw steep declines, showing how quickly physical and digital purchases taper after release week.

With this latest achievement, ICEMAN becomes one of the most consistent performers in Drake’s catalog. It marks his sixth Billboard 200 No. 1 album to remain at the top for multiple weeks. Over his career, Drake now holds 15 No. 1 albums on the chart, tying him with Taylor Swift for the most among solo artists. This ongoing run keeps him at the center of modern chart history as streaming continues to shape music performance metrics. His ability to sustain high streaming numbers across multiple projects at once remains a key factor in his chart success.

Luminate, the data provider for Billboard, compiles and verifies all consumption data used in the chart rankings. The company reviews submissions for accuracy and removes any data considered suspicious or unverifiable before final calculations. This process ensures that chart positions reflect verified listening and sales activity across the United States. It also adds credibility to the final rankings published each week. The latest results confirm Drake’s continued commercial strength and the sustained reach of ICEMAN in a competitive streaming landscape.
