OutKast to Be Inducted into Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with Special Guests

OutKast, the legendary duo of André 3000 and Big Boi, will be officially inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame next month, with Killer Mike, JID, and Sleepy Brown joining them on stage. The ceremony takes place on November 8 in Los Angeles at the Peacock Theater and will be streamed live on Disney Plus.
Killer Mike, JID, and Sleepy Brown have close ties to OutKast and their influence on hip-hop, fashion, and music. Killer Mike, who later formed Run The Jewels with El-P, began his career in the Dungeon Family and delivered standout verses on OutKast albums Stankonia and Speakerboxxx/The Love Below. Sleepy Brown, one-third of the production team Organized Noize, helped shape OutKast’s signature sound and appeared on much of their discography.
JID, a fellow Atlanta native, has cited OutKast as a major influence and collaborated with Big Boi on Masego’s 2021 song “Garden Party.” He has also teased an André 3000 flute feature for the upcoming deluxe edition of his album God Does Like Ugly, further highlighting the continued impact of OutKast’s legacy.
OutKast will become the 13th hip-hop act inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, joining artists such as JAY-Z, Eminem, 2Pac, The Notorious B.I.G., Run-DMC, Public Enemy, Missy Elliott, and A Tribe Called Quest. The Class of 2025 also includes influential acts from rock, pop, and blues, including The White Stripes, Cyndi Lauper, Soundgarden, Joe Cocker, Chubby Checker, and Bad Company.
The induction honors OutKast’s groundbreaking contributions to music, their influence on generations of artists, and their lasting impact on culture. Killer Mike, JID, and Sleepy Brown’s involvement underscores the duo’s significance and the respect they command within the hip-hop community.
