Kodak Black Blasts NBA YoungBoy’s New Album, Sparks Rumors of Rekindled Feud

Kodak Black appears to have reignited his long-standing tension with NBA YoungBoy after making blunt remarks about the Louisiana rapper’s new album, Make America Slime Again. The Florida star didn’t hold back during a recent Instagram Story, calling out YoungBoy directly and labeling the project “straight trash.”
The clip, which surfaced online via Livebitez on Sunday, July 6, showed Kodak venting about the album and suggesting that YoungBoy has been sneak dissing him. “I just heard little bruh album it’s straight trash, I don’t even like that,” he said in the video. “And I like YoungBoy music, but that shit ‘ass’ tho.”
While the exact reason for the apparent fallout remains unclear, Kodak’s comments have revived speculation that the two artists’ relationship may be back on rocky ground. Rumors of a beef between the two have circulated for years, with occasional moments of peace in between.
Kodak Black and NBA YoungBoy’s dynamic has been one of hip-hop’s most unpredictable. The two first collaborated in 2017 on fan-favorite tracks like “Water” and “Chosen One,” showcasing undeniable chemistry and earning praise for their raw and real lyricism. At the time, their bond appeared solid, with mutual respect and support.
Things took a turn in 2018 when Quando Rondo, a known affiliate of YoungBoy, burned Kodak’s Sniper Gang merch on camera. The tension deepened in 2019 when YoungBoy reportedly dated Kodak’s ex-girlfriend, further fueling rumors of animosity. Despite that, YoungBoy released a song titled “Letter 2 Kodak” following Kodak’s 46-month federal prison sentence, sparking confusion about the true nature of their relationship.
By 2020, the feud became more public. While Kodak was still incarcerated, he accused YoungBoy of cooperating with authorities after an altercation involving YoungBoy’s then-girlfriend Iyanna Mayweather. YoungBoy responded via an emotional Instagram Live, and the public back-and-forth drove a wedge further between the once-close collaborators.
Kodak threw more subtle jabs in songs like “Dirty K” during 2021 and 2022, but fans speculated that a reconciliation was still possible. That moment arrived in January 2023, when the two rappers appeared to squash the beef over a lighthearted FaceTime call. The viral clip of them joking about gumbo signaled a surprising and welcome truce that many thought would hold.
However, Kodak’s latest remarks have raised doubts about whether that peace was temporary. As the clip continues to circulate, fans are once again watching closely to see if the feud escalates or fizzles out.
The reemergence of this beef underscores a trend in modern hip-hop where personal dynamics shift rapidly—one day collaborators, the next rivals. Whether this latest chapter leads to another diss track or ends in silence remains to be seen. What’s certain is that when two names as big as Kodak Black and NBA YoungBoy clash, the culture pays attention.
