Drake Reportedly Avoiding Rolling Loud Despite Festival’s Generous Offer

Drake is reportedly avoiding Rolling Loud, or at least that’s what the festival’s co-founder Tariq Cherif believes. During a recent visit to Big Boy’s Neighborhood, Cherif discussed the newly-announced Rolling Loud California 2025 lineup and was asked if there were any artists who had been particularly hard to book. While Big Boy indicated that it was okay if names weren’t disclosed, Cherif made it clear that Drake is the one who has remained elusive.

“I feel like Drake’s ducking us,” Cherif said. “I got no beef with Drake. I like Drake. I think he’s a great artist. We’ve been trying to book him forever. We even offered Drake ‘Three Nights of Drake’ once.”

Cherif and the Rolling Loud team tried to entice Drake by offering him the chance to headline for three nights at the festival. Despite the generous offer, it seems that Drizzy is still not convinced.

Rolling Loud, now in its 10th year, has become the largest hip hop festival in the world, hosting stacked performances across the United States and internationally. The California 2025 lineup, which was recently revealed, will feature A$AP Rocky and Playboi Carti as headliners, alongside first-time performer Peso Pluma. Other notable performers include YG, Quavo, Larry June, Ab-Soul, and even LiAngelo Ball, who went viral with his new song “Tweaker.”

Drake, however, has not yet committed to performing at the festival. Meanwhile, he is gearing up for an exciting year ahead. On January 8, 2025, Drake shared on his Instagram story a blurry image of a man in a tuxedo, writing, “I’m about to get active again… Free Anita @stake,” hinting at something significant coming soon. It’s speculated that he may be referring to his upcoming tour in Australia, as well as new music releases.

In addition to his Australian tour, Drake recently teased that he is “loaded” for 2025, hinting at a year full of new projects. He specifically mentioned his highly anticipated joint album with PARTYNEXTDOOR, saying it’s one of the projects he’s most proud of in his career. “Me and PARTY’s album is honestly one of the projects I’m most proud of in my life,” he said, adding that it captures the best of their shared Toronto sound. Drake also mentioned that 2025 could bring a shift in the music scene, with more artists focusing on releasing their work freely.

While Drake may be dodging Rolling Loud, it’s clear that his plans for 2025 are anything but quiet, with multiple new music projects on the horizon. Fans can expect a busy year for the superstar, with plenty of new content and performances to look forward to.
