Pop Smoke’s “Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon” Achieves New Billboard Milestone

Pop Smoke’s “Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon” Achieves New Billboard Milestone! Pop Smoke‘s tragic demise at such a young age continues to haunt his fans, and as a result, many of his fans have found consolation in the release of his posthumous album Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon. The project which has since set up camp in the No. 1 spot on the Hip-Hop/R&B album charts and has yet to stray far from the lofty spot was released in July of 2020 and executive-produced by 50 Cent. Given its strong reign the Shoot For The Stars album has now officially hit an impressive Billboard milestone, according to the publication.

Pop Smoke's "Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon" Achieves New Billboard Milestone

Pop Smoke‘s Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon officially becomes the longest-running album at the top of the R&B/Hip Hop chart since 1990, having retained its position at the top for a total of 17 weeks. Before Pop Smoke hit the impressive milestone, the original setter of the record was none other than MC Hammer, who spent 29 weeks in the No. 1 spot following the release of his 1990 album Please Hammer, Don’t Hurt Em. Eminem‘s Recovery went on to secure 16 weeks at No. 1, though it has now been surpassed by Pop Smoke‘s posthumous debut.

As per Billboard’s statistics, this new milestone places Pop Smoke in some exclusive company. As explained by Billboard, only 11 albums have secured 17 or more weeks at the top of the charts, with the only two rap projects being Shoot For The Stars and the earlier mentioned MC Hammer drop. Clearly, Pop Smoke’s fans are determined to keep his legacy alive, and many will wonder how far this one will go – as dethroning Hammer’s 29 weeks is no mean feat, considering the fact that that the album’s own title encourages setting major goals.

Congratulations are in order to Pop Smoke’s team as Pop Smoke’s “Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon” Achieves New Billboard Milestone.
