Lil Durk’s meteoritic rise into superstardom in the recent past has raised questions as to whether the Chicago rapper’s success is sustainable. While a majority is of the opinion he’ll hold his spot for a longer time, others are looking at his ranking in terms of the overall landscape of where hip-hop is at today. DJ Kam Bennett, who is known to work closely with Lil Bibby, while sharing his opinion on Lil Durk‘s incredible year, argued that the artist has surpassed the likes of Meek Mill in terms of his relevance in the industry as an artist. His tweet set twitter on fire as a huge debate raged on.

“I never thought I’d see the day where Lil Durk would be a bigger artist than Meek Mill… but here we are,” Bennett wrote, getting Meek Mill’s name trending as more users reacted to his thoughts. Generally, most people disagreed with his take, saying that Meek is a “certified legend” and has been in the game for much longer. Those who disagreed argued that Lil Durk only gained mainstream favor in the last few years.
