It's A Small Win For Megan Thee Stallion In Tory Lanez's Case

Lanez was copped for felony gun possession in July last year after a night out with Megan, Keeping Up With The Kardashians star Kylie Jenner and other friends. An argument that allegedly erupted inside their chauffeur-driven car quickly spinned out of control. In the process, Megan was shot in both feet and rushed to a local hospital while Lanez found himself in jail.

At first, Megan was quiet about the alleged triggerman’s identity but eventually pointed the finger at Lanez. The Canadian rapper would be charged with one felony count of assault with a semi-automatic firearm and for carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm. Tory Lanez was confirmed to be facing a “gun allegation and for personally inflicting great bodily harm” on “a female friend in the Hollywood Hills.”If convicted as charged, he faces a potential maximum sentence of 22 years and 8 months.

The 28-year-old was also slapped with a restraining order, that bars him from coming anywhere close to Megan or communication with her in any way. Lanez’s lawyer Shawn Holley had argued that the protective order restraining him from talking was “unfair” as it doesn’t equally apply to Megan.

Megan has spoken about the incident for several months. In the past month, she ranted on Twitter after a rumor claimed the charges against Lanez had been dropped went viral.

“Bitch you shot me AND MY STORY NOT CHANGING AND BITCH YOU GOING TO JAIL,” she tweeted at the time.
