Doja Cat’s “Streets” Hits Billboard 100 After Viral TikTok #SilhouetteChallenge – If you’ve been keeping abreast with the latest social media trends, then you must have heard about the latest Tiktok challenge. If yes, then you already know that the the “Buss It” challenge is behind us now and its place taken over by the #SilhouetteChallenge. The viral TikTok challenge uses a remix of the Paul Anka’s 1959 classic “Put Your Head on My Shoulder” and Doja Cat’s “Streets” and at the beat switch, TikTok users discard their clothes for a sensual display of their nude silhouettes as they show off every curve on their bodies.
Following the success of the silhouette challenge, Doja Cat’s “Streets” has sky-rocketed up the Billboard Hot 100 charts to the No. 25 slot. The challenge was reportedly created by Giulia Di Nicolantonio a TikTok influencer by blending “Put Your Head on My Shoulder” by Paul Anka with Doja Cat’s single.
The #SilhouetteChallenge has definitely given everybody a life on social media as people flood TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter posting their luscious videos. The challenge has seen thousands of users and celebrities alike take up it up including rising rapper Renni Rucci. Tiffany Haddish and Common were too not left out of the fun after they recently recorded their own video and shared it with their fans.
Just the same way the #junebugchallenge caused SpotEmGottem’s “BeatBox” to go viral, the #SilhouetteChallenge has done a similar thing for Doja Cat. “Streets” has sky-rocketed to No. 25 on the Billboard 100 after just breaking into the chart earlier this month. Considering that “Streets” was released way back in 2019, Doja Cat definitely has the #SilhouetteChallenge to thank for the song’s new-found success.
Doja Cat is reportedly preparing for the release of her follow-up album to Hot Pink, which is tentatively titled Planet Her. With the momentum from her recent Ariana Grande “34+35” remix collaboration coupled with the streaming boost from the #SilhouetteChallenge, fans may get Doja’s new album sooner than they expected.
