DJ Akademiks Teases Drake’s “Certified Lover Boy” Release! Drake‘s Certified Lover Boy, arguably one of the most anticipated albums of the year, is reportedly going to drop within the next two months at least according to DJ Akademiks, who claims he got that information straight from the horse’s mouth.
After pushing back the album from its earlier expected January release date, Drake has had quite few updates as far as the long-awaited studio album is concerned. Drake delayed the album’s release so he can focus on his recovery after a knee injury and as it looks as though he’s gone back to the studio, fans are just waiting for the slightest indication that the album is on its way.
Rumors surfaced that Certified Lover Boy could be dropping as a surprise release yesterday night (Thursday Feb 26) but DJ Akademiks was quick to enlighten his live stream viewers that that isn’t the case, explaining what he knows so far about the release.
“CLB update. I’ve seen some people say, ‘oh, it was supposed to drop tonight’, as in Thursday night. No. No, it’s not dropping then,” said the hip-hop media personality. “Drake told me that it’s going to be dropping before April so he’s not waiting until summer to drop his sh*t. I don’t wanna say before April… April or before. But the reason why I’m saying it’s not dropping tonight, as in Thursday night, is because he’s spent so much time on this project that he’s not trying to put out a surprise project. He’s gonna let people know at least a week before, bro.”
Though it remains unclear if DJ Akademiks should be trusted with this sort of information but, in the recent few months, he has proven his reliability as an insider source. Given the fact that the DJ was the first person to report about Playboi Carti’s release date for Whole Lotta Red and also given his friendly relationship with Drake, there is a high possibility he could he be telling the truth.
However, caution must be taken now that Drake’s team had previously warned about this exact sort of thing, stating that official updates about Certified Lover Boy will be coming straight from Drake going foward.
Should this information be anything to go by, then it means Certified Lover Boy will be out within the next two months.
