Roddy Ricch’s “The Box” Earns Its 8th Platinum Milestone just in time as the artist’s success spills over into 2021. 2020 was most certainly a good year for the artist as his debut Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial album and “The Box” single having dominated the better part of 2020.
The track has officially sold up to 8 million units earning the octuple Platinum certification. This is Ricchy’s latest accomplishment besides the many accolades in the artist’s name.
In 2020 his debut album Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial made it to the No 1 position on the Billboard 200 albums list. One month later, the album made a return to the same position being the first Hip-Hop album to do so in 15 years. The last album to achieve a similar fete was The Game’s Documentary in 2005.
Speaking with GQ last year, Roddy Ricch had this to say; “The next album is going to be a full-blown masterpiece,” he told GQ. “A real idea. A real body of work.” “It’s really not about it being ready or not ready. It’s more about the timing. I really just drop when I feel like it.”
Roddy has featured in a number of collabos namely; DaBaby’s “ROCKSTAR” anthem, ,” Cordae’s “Gifted,” NLE Choppa’s “Walk Em DownInternet, Money’s “Lemonade” remix alongside Don Toliver, and Pop Smoke’s “The Woo along with other notable appearances in “A Boogie” wit da Hoodie, Gunna, and Ty Dolla $ign.
