Dr. Dre Reportedly Working On Detox Album! After being in hospital for nearly two weeks, Dr. Dre is back with a vengeance! The Hip-Hip icon is back and back to the studio, apparently working on the elusive Detox album. We may as well say he is back to studio to detox so he can fully recover from his recent illness.
Following his recovery after being hospitalized due to suffering a brain aneurysm, for close to two weeks, it looks like the legendary Hip-Hop artist is back to get things back on track.
A number of Dre’s frequent collaborating producers and engineers took to social media Saturday night (Jan 16) with photos of themselves in studio with Dr. Dre, the co-founder of N.W.A.
Producer Dem Jointz’s post caught the attention of many raising eyebrows about the possibility of Detox being delivered this year. The producer who worked closely on Dre’s last album Compton, posted a photo, with the caption “And We Back!! #Detox21.”
Producers Focus and Trevor Lawrence Jr. who were part of Dre’s last project were also in the building.
Plans of Dre releasing the mythical Detox album have remained just that- plans for over a decade now. Although other sources say the project was permanently shelved following the release of Compton in 2015, there’s still talk that the Dr. is still building up the album slowly but surely. He gave fans hope back in 2017, telling a reporter at the time, “I’m working on a couple songs right now. We’ll see.”
