Tyler, The Creator Drops Controversial ‘Sugar On My Tongue’ Visual Packed with Explicit Imagery

Tyler, The Creator has released the music video for Sugar On My Tongue, and it is not for the faint of heart. The California rapper’s latest visual starts with an innocent setup, as he raps to a woman across a white-tiled room, but quickly escalates into provocative and sexually charged imagery.

The song opens with Tyler’s playful flirtation. When he raps, “Invite me if you come, come, come / It’s all I want to eat, eat, eat,” the video introduces the woman’s parents, and a choreographed dance sequence begins, maintaining the upbeat energy of the track.

However, the tone shifts dramatically in the second verse. Tyler appears in a black latex outfit with a mask covering his eyes and nose, while the woman wears a similar ensemble, holding him on a leash. The mother, father, and earlier extras are dressed alike, taking the scene into overtly fetishized territory.

The final moments of the video take the sexual imagery even further. Tyler and the woman are shown fully nude, engaging in an exaggerated, symbolic act involving his severed tongue, which the woman waters and uses to ride. The video cuts to black for the last few seconds, ending the provocative visual abruptly.

Since its July 21 release, Sugar On My Tongue has become a fan favorite from Tyler’s album DON’T TAP THE GLASS. The track has accumulated over 42 million streams and reached number 41 on the Billboard Hot 100, currently sitting at number 70.

The visual is one of Tyler, The Creator’s most explicit and surreal videos to date, likely to spark conversation among fans and critics alike. Parents may want to exercise caution, as the content is highly sexualized and not suitable for children.
