Kendrick Lamar is the voice over star in the latest Nike ad. The ad honors and pays tribute to basketball legend Kobe Bryant. The ad aired on what would have been the legends 42 birthday.

The ‘DAMN’ rapper narrates the 60 second long ad film which is titled Better. the ad highlights Kobe’s relentless drive and how he has been an consistent, ever-growing star player. Kobe always found ways to better himself, whether is is as a player, loser, winner, teammate, teacher and father.

The ad features a series of picture of Kobe, and pictures of him and his daughter Gianna. Kendrick is heard saying “Kobe taught us to be better”. The ad is filled with powerful visuals and it features footage from his last game. It ends with “mamba Out” and the crowd chants his name.

Many of the players fans and other artists took to social media as tribute to him on what would have been his birthday. His wife shared a heartfelt message and the Nike ad has also touched a lot of fans heart.
