Ceelo Green had appeared on an interview with Far Out Magazine and had critical comments to share about female rappers. He singled out Cardi B and Megan thee Stallion, he also mentioned Nicki Minaj. He described that music as ‘shameless’ and ‘desperate’. He said their music is disapointing on a personal and moral level,

His comments just came about after Cardi and Meg released the sexy and provocative song ‘WAP’. The singer mentioned the two female rappers for salacious gesturing. He said their sexual depictions must come at a cost. Ceelo received a lot of backlash for what he had said about female rappers, the backlash may have led him to penning an apology.

The 45 year old soul crooner then posted n apology statement on his Twitter account. He explained that what he said in the interview might have been interpreted with misunderstanding. He said “I know most of them personally and consider Cardi & Offset family. Therefore, I would never disrespect them by any means.” He continued to explain ” I consider them all as powerful, beautiful and influential women… I wholeheartedly apologize to each of them for the inconvenience they have been cause ddue to a snippet of my interview.

Prior to the singers apology Meg had fired back on twitter at male critics who have bashed the song ‘WAP’ for it;s raunchy lyrics. She referenced other misogynistic lyrics of Three 6 Mafia’s “Slob On My Nob’. he mentioned that men have a problem with the lyrics of her and Card’s song when they can drop songs like that.
