Pop Smokes album cover to be changed after fans backlash. Rapper Pop Smoke’s posthumous album cover to be changed after fans disliked the design. The cover was ridiculed on social media. Pop Smoke’s fans accused album cover designer Virgil Abloh for laziness.
Steven Victor worked with Pop Smoke as his manager. Victor is the one who shared the album cover artwork with the public. Victor also stated that Pop Smoke approved the album cover artwork which was created by Virgil. Virgil worked alongside Pop Smoke in creating the artwork, the cover is said to be designed as per Pop Smoke’s wishes.
Unfortunately, Pop Smoke died in February and will not be present when the album is released. Steven Victor said that since Pop Smoke is not here to make the final approvement of the cover, his fans are able to make that decision.
Fans stated the way in which the album cover is basic and not creative. Fans also started a petition which got over 17k signatures stating the album cover to be changed. Victor decided to take action based on the fans response and stated that Pop smoke would also listen to his fans when asked to change the cover. Thus, Victor has announced that the album cover will be changed.
The upcoming album which is set to be released on Friday the 3rd of July 2020 has not yet been titled but thetitle Shoot For The Stars Aim For The Moon has been rumored. The album track list has been released and the album features 50 Cent, DaBaby, Swae Lee and many others.
