Lil Baby Shares About His Personal Experience Of Police Brutality. Lil Baby is now using his voice and his music to raise awareness about issues that have affected him. The shared about his experiences with police brutality on a recent magazine cover story.

On Monday the 20th of July 2020 Rolling Stone published a cover story on rapper Lil Baby. He spoke about his encounters with police brutality and how the criminal justice system is not set up in away it could protect Black people.

The 25 year old rapper said “I’ve been a victim of police brutality.” He shared on the way in which white police officers in prison control young black men, during his time in prison. The rapper added and said “There have been times I had a physical altercation with an officer, and he then grabbed me and took me to a room with no cameras”. The officer took him to the room and beat him up. He said he yelled and screamed but no one came and helped him.

Lil Baby released a song during the civil unrest of police officers killing innocent people of colour. The songs titled ‘The Bigger Picture’ and is about #BlackLivesMatter and is a protest anthem that addresses systematic racism and other issues.

The rapper made it clear that racism also exists outside of police interaction and prison time. he told Rolling Stone that America is dominated and determined by race. He also became so accustomed to police acting brutality that he saw it as a normal thing also because of the neighbourhood he came from.

Baby now wants to make sure he uses his voice and music to make people aware of these racial issues and also try and use his power as an artist to try and deal with the issues and find solutions. As he has personally experienced this harsh American reality.
