Nas and Mass Appeal Launch “Imagine That” Campaign to Let Fans Shape Dream Collaborations

Nas and his label Mass Appeal are back with a fresh initiative called Imagine That, less than a year after their Legend Has It… campaign. The new platform gives fans the opportunity to share their dream collaborations, letting creativity and imagination drive the next wave of hip-hop projects. The name is likely inspired by Nas’ classic track “If I Ruled The World (Imagine That),” reflecting the concept of envisioning what could be possible in music.
Imagine That allows users to submit their ideas by selecting up to four artists and producers for potential collaborations. Fans start by clicking the platform link, filling out a submission form, and generating a unique graphic of their proposed collab. The final step is posting the graphic to Instagram while tagging @massappealrecs. This interactive process turns fans into active participants in the creative journey.
According to Mass Appeal, fans can “follow every step of the journey from submission and final selections, to signings and insight into the very moment the music is made.” This level of transparency builds anticipation and deepens fan engagement, creating a micro community around the campaign.
The concept stems from decades of fan speculation about dream pairings and collaborations. Mass Appeal’s new platform formalizes that excitement, allowing fans to see which ideas the label may turn into reality. While it’s unclear if submissions must include a Mass Appeal signee to be considered, the campaign encourages bold and imaginative proposals, sparking discussion across hip-hop social media.
Imagine That follows Mass Appeal’s acclaimed Legend Has It… campaign, which helped distribute several albums from iconic artists. That initiative concluded with Nas and DJ Premier’s joint tape Light-Years in December, and included releases from De La Soul, Slick Rick, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, and more. The success of that campaign set the stage for a fan-focused project like Imagine That, further cementing Mass Appeal’s reputation for innovation in hip-hop culture.
Fans interested in participating can access the platform immediately and begin submitting their dream collaborations. Imagine That promises to generate excitement, conversation, and potentially bring some of the most anticipated collaborations in rap to life.
