Jay-Z Is Reportedly Working on a New Album That Could Shake Hip-Hop in 2025

Speculation about a new Jay-Z album in 2025 is heating up after Memphis Bleek hinted that the rap legend is “working” on music. Bleek revealed the news during an appearance on Drink Champs, hosted by NORE and DJ EFN, where he shared stories from his career and perspectives on trending topics.

Bleek described a recent encounter with Jay-Z in Las Vegas. “I just was with him in Vegas,” Bleek said. “He just came out on the show, and my n***a, they went stupid. I said, ‘Listen, I know you workin’. Save me a verse.’” According to Bleek, Jay-Z didn’t deny it, responding, “All right, I got you.”

The revelation immediately caused a stir online. Fans took to social media, hoping that a new Jay-Z project is imminent. If it materializes, the album would mark his first full-length release since 2017’s 4:44. Jay-Z’s most recent feature was on Pusha T’s 2022 track “Neck & Wrist,” produced by Pharrell Williams. The rapper did not appear on Clipse’s reunion album Let God Sort Em Out, despite their requests for collaborations.

Jay-Z and Memphis Bleek share a long history that began in Brooklyn’s Marcy Projects. Bleek lived in Apt. 3D, while Jay-Z’s family resided on the floor above. Jay-Z even babysat Bleek as a child. Their professional relationship began in the mid-1990s when Bleek signed to Roc-A-Fella Records. Over the years, they created multiple classics together, including “Is That Yo Chick,” “My Mind Right,” and “Money, Cash, Hoes.” In 2005, Jay-Z gifted Bleek a track on his album 534 titled “Dear Summer” ahead of his first retirement.

In 2025, Jay-Z has continued to perform, joining his wife Beyoncé on her Cowboy Carter World Tour overseas. The possibility of a new album adds to the excitement, suggesting that Hov may be ready to return to the studio in full force. Fans are watching closely to see if Memphis Bleek’s hints will become reality and whether Jay-Z will once again reshape the hip-hop landscape.
